The partnership with Walgreens and Express scripts, which have been partners providing some of the best services to customers is now coming to a break. Walgreens is now no longer part of Express scripts as the contract between Express scripts and Walgreens ended on 31 of December 2011.

Many Walgreen users who have been using Express Scripts plans have been hugely disappointed by this move of Express Scripts. Walgreens had made consistent efforts for making this transition as smoothly as possible but very little support from Express Scripts.

Another way for patients is to check in the backside of their prescription insurance card. If their Prescription insurance card has Express Scripts name, then they are impacted by this and if not, they are not impacted.

If an individual joins during this special January promotion, they are offering it for 5$ and if they are going to take family membership it is costing 10$.

This membership helps customers to save on more than 8000 brand names and all generic medications.

Regular annual memberships cost is 20$ for an individual and 35$ for family. Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens is one of the best in the industry.

What are customers looking for

In the recent survey held by Walgreen with top customers and professionals who are involved in Pharmacy benefit decisions, 82% of people doesn’t want to exclude Walgreens for saving 5% savings on their total pharmacy spent, 60% of people doesn’t want to exclude Walgreens for less than 10% savings and 21% wouldn’t like to exclude Walgreens from their network regardless of their savings.

But the strange decision taken by Express Scripts was surprising to customers.
